Sony PXW FX9 Camcorder

The Sony PXW FX9 is a professional 6K full frame camcorder, featuring a back-illuminated full frame 6K CMOS sensor with Sony’s Exmor R technology for improved sensitivity and reduced noise.  This new sensor has twice the surface area of the FS7’s 4K Supper 35mm sensor, providing a wider angle of view making it easier to gain a shallower depth of field.

The FX9 also offers an exceptional 15+ stops of dynamic range, allowing unprecedented creative freedom in colour grading and post.  Camera operators can concentrate on framing the scene they want while relying upon the FX9 to capture every nuance and detail using either 4K 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording or 16-bit RAW external recording (with the XDCA-FX9 Extension Unit).

The FX9 has some great focusing features, including Fast Hybrid AF, which combines phase detection AF with contrast AF to provide fast and accurate subject tracking.  As well as Eye AF with real-time tracking; high speed, high precision image processing maintains a pin-sharp focus, to capture your subjects most subtle expressions with seamless AI-based tracking.  Simply touch a subject on the viewfinder or select a face with the FX9 joystick and the camera will track and maintain focus automatically.
