In partnership with video producers Second Sight, CPL played a pivotal role in enhancing a recent national UK Audi Forum event held at Kinetics Studios in Corby. Providing three expansive sections of LED screen using the new Roe Ruby 2.6mm Panels and Roe Ruby-C 2.6mm curved panels, the collaboration resulted in a stunning backdrop. Under the leadership of Lee Gruszeckyj, the CPL team meticulously configured the screen in an infinity curve setup, infusing the dynamic studio space with depth and dimension. This visually captivating environment featured a new model Audi display vehicle, various props, and presentation set pieces, complemented by crisp, high-quality video content that accompanied a series of engaging presentations
The event, traditionally held in iconic venues such as Excel, exemplified how leading brands and the production industry have adeptly embraced innovative hybrid communication strategies. These strategies effectively reach and engage target audiences.
CPL’s comprehensive technical package featured key elements like a disguise media server for playback, Brompton screen processing, fibre networking, and other essential infrastructure. The setup also incorporated a Barco E2 for screen and signal management, along with Riedel Bolero wireless comms.
Led by Lee and his team, they crafted a bespoke brushed aluminum Audi-branded structure, serving as a focal point for speakers and presentations. Positioned along one side of the expansive three-way angled screen, spanning 28 meters in total, the setup created a seamless continuous wall for content delivery.
The fully redundant fibre loop ensured robust power and signal capabilities, meeting broadcast standards with reliability
CPL incorporated a few OXO Pixyline 150 LED battens for ‘special’ lighting, as the primary lighting and audio packages were part of the studio rental.
Being a regular client of CPL, Second Sight earned praise from Lee: “We enjoy collaborating with Guy Shayler and his team. They exhibit precision and attention to detail, making the entire process smooth, efficient, and well-organized, allowing us to maximize creativity.”
The schedule encompassed a build day, a full day dedicated to technical rehearsals, followed by a shoot day, concluding with the dismantling of all equipment.
A 15-way comms system was deployed to manage multiple cameras and stage management requirements. The wireless functionality not only enhanced the overall aesthetic but also eliminated the need for cables, ensuring a tidy and organized studio floor.
Second Sight independently produced all media content, seamlessly integrated into CPL’s disguise VX4 media server. The content was meticulously time-lined and key-framed to synchronize with various presentations. Scott Shelley, the head of graphics, employed a pixel map of the video wall to craft precise-sized graphics, resulting in a visually impactful, superior-quality presentation surpassing the capabilities of standard presentation software.
Facilitating this sophisticated setup, a Barco E2 processor efficiently distributed disguise inputs to the respective screen processors. Additionally, it transmitted autocue and other DSM instructions to multi-view monitors strategically positioned across the floor area. This ensured that everyone involved in the broadcast had real-time visibility into the proceedings, enhancing overall coordination and awareness.
